Movember – Physical activity among men
November is the month of Movember—the global campaign that reminds men to take care of their health, especially their mental well-being, prostate and testicular cancer, and suicide prevention. One of the most powerful tools in this fight? Physical activity! It’s not just about “fitness”—it’s a lifeline for your body and mind.
Why do men need to stay active?
Heart health and blood pressure under control:
Regular physical activity (even just 30 minutes a day) reduces the risk of heart disease by 30–40%, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Men often ignore symptoms—don’t be one of them!
Fighting cancer:
Studies show that physically active men have a 20–30% lower risk of prostate cancer. Running, cycling, or lifting weights—everything helps “flush out” toxins and strengthen the immune system.
Mental health comes first:
Depression and anxiety are “silent killers” among men. Physical activity releases endorphins—natural “antidepressants.” According to Harvard research, just 150 minutes of moderate activity per week reduces the risk of depression by 25%. During Movember, this is a direct strike against suicide!
Testosterone and energy:
As men age, testosterone levels decline—but exercise boosts them! That means better sleep, more energy, and stronger self-confidence.
How to start today?
Simple ideas:
Go for walks with friends, play football, or try home workouts. Goal: 10,000 steps a day!
Movember challenge:
Grow a moustache, raise funds, and move together—organize group runs or fitness sessions.
Get checked:
Combine physical activity with regular health check-ups—early detection saves lives.
Men, you are heroes—but heroes take care of themselves!
Move for better health, for your families, and for the future.
