Working Meeting of the Institute of Public Health with representatives of SECID
On February 9 2026, a working meeting was held at the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of N. Macedonia with representatives of the Regional Center for Surveillance and Control of Infectious Diseases in Southeast Europe (SECID), headquartered in Tirana, Albania.
The SECID delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Silvia Bino, Head of the Department for control of infectious diseases at the Institute of public health of Albania, and Ms. Ledia Agoli, Executive Director of SECID.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Institute of public health, Ass.Dr. Marija Andonovska, as well as representatives from the Department of epidemiology of infectious diseases.
The purpose of the meeting was to enhance and continue the long-standing cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in the areas of surveillance, prevention, and control of infectious diseases, strengthening institutional capacities, and developing and implementing joint activities and regional initiatives within the scope of SECID’s mandate and competencies.
During the meeting, a shared commitment was expressed to further strengthen cooperation and ensure coordinated action aimed at reinforcing the public health system and more effectively addressing regional and cross-border health threats.
