The Director of the IPH, Marija Andonovska, Dr. PHD held a coordinative meeting with Dr. Abebayehu Mengistu, Coordinator of the WHO Balkan Emergency Hub, and Ms. Arta Kuli, National Professional Officer for Emergencies at the WHO Country Office in Skopje.

During this meeting, they discuss the ongoing work and future initiatives which are planned to implement in partnership with the expertise at the Institute of Public Health.

The meeting was held on October 7 and Golubinka Boshevska Prof. Dr., Igor Spiroski Prof. Dr., Dragan Kocinski Ass Dr. and Milica Stojanović Simova, B.Sc. attended it.

The objectives of this meeting would include the following:

        * Overview of WHO Health Emergencies (WHE) Programme Activities

A briefing on current and planned WHE activities in the subregion, with an emphasis on key achievements and ongoing efforts in line with regional and global commitments.

A review of the joint activities undertaken by the WHO and the Institute of Public Health (IPH).

        * Strengthening Collaboration and Coordination

Discuss potential opportunities to deepen cooperation and enhance coordination between WHO and IPH.

         *Alignment with IPH Strategic Priorities

Explore IPH's strategic priorities for the next two years and identify areas where WHO can provide targeted support to help achieve national and regional health security goals.

        * Next Steps

Establish clear next steps for operationalizing the agreed initiatives, including timelines and potential areas for future joint activities.
